Job Summary

Ingest Operators are responsible for the Ingest, QC and delivery of all live, non-live news and short content including Volant promotional material and offer top level assistance to Newsroom staff on all matters related to Ingest.

**Responsibilities**:

- Schedule and Ingest all Live AITV and IITV studio output using Mimir.
- Clip and QC News Show repeats in Adobe Premiere and deliver to TX.
- Ingest, QC and delivery short content to TX including fillers, promos, buffers, bumpers and Idents.
- Liaise with Scheduling and TX regarding Live and Non-Live news content.
- Monitor and report to Engineering and Network Services senior staff any issues on records from IITV and AITV.
- Monitor incoming feeds and do quality checks for delivered assets in Mimir and Adobe Premiere.
- Prepare and export video and audio material for Iran and Afghanistan International staff.

**Requirements**:

- Experience of Ingest, QC, Media Management or satellite operations.
- Ability to Identify and report effectively common video and audio issues
- Knowledge of Mimir newsroom software preferable
- Familiarity with Adobe suite (Premiere, Media Encoder)
- Technical knowledge of audio and video hardware and software encoders, video and audio standards, file formats, codecs and wrappers.
- Understanding of Ingest, MCR and Transmission chain
- Knowledge of Baton QC or other automated QC software
- Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work in a pressurized environment and prioritize accordingly
- Ability to help problem solve technical issues related to Ingest.
- Capable of taking the initiative and leading by example, delegating up and down
- Adaptation to rapidly changing live environments
- Flexible attitude to working practices and current technology
- Good understanding of copyright restrictions attached to certain media
- Clear understanding of how the broadcast infrastructure and workflows affect our wider business here at Volant Media
- Willingness to learn specific support profiles, with an emphasis on broadcasting and transmission technologies
- Good team player, able to gain and share knowledge equally
- Knowledge of broadcast principles and workflows
- Interest in news and current events
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of Farsi is not required for this role, but it is considered a bonus
