**The post holder is required**:

- To assemble and dispense in-patient, outpatient and take home medication and to process controlled drug requisitions, following standard dispensary operating procedures. All assembling and dispensing work is checked.
- To participate in the ward based medicines management service, assessing patients own medicines, and organising supplies.
- To support the Pharmacy Logistics Service in providing safe, effective and

efficient pharmacy purchasing and distribution services.
- To work within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and be guided by

professional good practice guidelines.
- To work as part of a team and also work independently, using own initiative to deal with routine enquiries e.g. availability and supply of medicines to wards, or patients, referring to the Pharmacy Technician or a Pharmacist if necessary.

To support the Logistics Service, reviewing and creating orders to Pharmaceutical Suppliers and resolving supply issues.
- To receipt orders, using the Pharmacy Computer System
- To issue items to Wards/Dispensary using Pharmacy Computer System
- Unpack, check incoming drugs from Manufacturers and wholesalers against ordering and delivery paperwork and checking that the goods are “in date”, in acceptable condition and meet specification criteria.
- Inform colleagues e.g. pharmacy storekeepers, logistics manager of identified balance errors, out of stock, low stock situations, increased demand for stock and urgent requests. Stock Control
- To maintain the security of medicines (including controlled drugs), within the Pharmacy Department and when accessing ward stock.
- To undertake routine stock maintenance to maintain accurate stock levels and records.
- To be a trouble shooter for the Pharmacy Automated Dispensing System (robot).
- Assist the Logistics Team in the changeover of expired emergency drugs boxes by returning stocks from Wards and Departments, and issuing replacement stocks.
- Monitor the Emergency Drug Cupboard (EDC) ensuring stock availability and replenishment and carry out stock and expiry date checks.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
