We have an exciting position available for a Policy & External Affairs Officer to join our team

We’re looking for someone who's got a keen interest in keeping a close eye on the external landscape to play a crucial role in shaping our approach to external affairs, as well as our policies and strategies. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and maintain an External Policy Register and Impact Framework that's aligned with One Manchester's policies and strategies. You will also monitor policy, political, and corporate developments in order to take appropriate action and provide recommendations for advocacy or campaign actions. Additionally, you will manage stakeholders, conduct horizon scanning, and provide regular briefings for the Executive Leadership Team.

**What we’re looking for**:

- A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, such as Public Policy, Political Science, or Social Sciences
- Demonstrated experience in policy analysis and advocacy
- Strong knowledge of the social housing sector, including relevant policies and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Good understanding of the political landscape and the ability to stay updated with political developments
- Proficiency in using IT tools and software, including Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
