**About The Role**

We are currently looking for a Workshop Diesel Fitter to join our Chandlers Ford Branch. Working within a small, experienced team, you will be responsible for carrying out diesel engine and pump maintenance. This will include performing repairs, servicing, or preventative maintenance, on equipment as directed by the Workshop Manager to the standards and timescales required.

For this role there is a requirement to have your own standard tools, anything specialised will be provided for you to use, to enable you to carry out the tasks required successfully.

**Key Responsibilities**:
All work will need to be carried out in line with recommended manufacturers’ procedures, demonstrating full compliance and constant awareness for your own health and safety and the safety of others including, customers, general public and the environment.
- Accurate and effective communication with immediate supervisor and work colleagues on job requirements e.g., cost, downtime, and identifying cause.
- In this role you will be working with our Workshop Fitters and Workshop Manager where teamwork will be just as important as the ability to work unsupervised. On occasions you will need to work collaboratively to get the job done and a positive attitude and integrity will be equally essential.
- Check all equipment for damages and ensure detailed notification is sent to the Branch Manager.
- Put forward proposals for modifications and improvements to machines, equipment or processes.
- Ensure necessary administration and paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Demonstrate excellent IT skills and attention to detail; you will have experience of working with mobile tablets.

**Qualifications & Skills required**:

- Qualification or relevant experience in Engineering such as an NVQ in Mechanical Engineering
- Full driving license is preferred due to occasional travel.
- Willingness to grow with the role and open to complete further development opportunities.
- This role requires a good level of fitness to enable you to correctly and safely, operate the machinery and equipment for Selwood.
