**What you will be doing**

This two-in-one role will see you join an inclusive, supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Whether you have experience as a Healthcare Assistant or transferable skills from another industry, you will use your knowledge and skills to help support people to lead a valued and fulfilled life.

As a Support Worker you will be supporting service users with all aspects of daily living including personal care at varying degrees. On a day-to-day basis you will be assisting service users with general home tasks including cooking, laundry, and cleaning. You will also support with activities, hobbies, and interests, whether its completing jigsaw puzzles or going on zoo trips.

No two days will be the same as you take pride in safely escorting and driving staff, visitors and service users to local destinations across Southwest London and surrounding areas. During shifts, you will have access to a company vehicle and will be responsible for its maintenance and checks.

You will have responsibility to record information, and report concerns. Your direct line of reporting would be the Senior Support Worker, organising the shift.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; being able to do something today that they couldn’t do last week because of you.
- You will have access to the Elysium Wellbeing team, which is on hand to keep you feeling great; be it a chat, massage or group activities. Who doesn’t like a free massage at work?_
- You will work on shifts, 7.5 hours a day, between the hours 7am - 2.30pm and 2pm
- 10pm, including weekends on a rota basis. Permanent, 37.5 hours, full-time contract. Extra shifts are optional._

You will be working at 78 Park Road, a service which provides support for people who may be living with moderate learning disabilities with associated health needs, autism and behaviours.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will offer support to people as part of their care pathway. Whether it is moving from their community placement or a family home because they require more structured care and support.

**Things you will have**:

- Must be local or based at a reasonable commute distance and time
- Must hold the UK drivers license for insurance purposes to use the company vehicle
- The ability to show strong empathy, a caring and compassionate nature
- Willing to support the residents with the personal hygiene
- People skills, communication skills and a good sense of humour
- Willingness to deal with the challenging behaviour
- A positive and professional approach
- Reliable, flexible, hard working and honest
