**Job Purpose**
To increase sales and retentions of DC Thomson newspapers through effective co-ordination, organisation and administration of the Home News Delivery operation.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- 100% efficient delivery of all HND rounds
- Recruit new delivery agents within the notice period of existing delivery agent or within a minimum of 1 week.
- Delivery waiting list to be updated & checked weekly. Identify & resolve areas where additional recruitment is required.
- New area requirements - delivery agents recruitment and distribution drops all to be in place prior to service commencement
- Arrange holiday cover where necessary
- Recruit, train and manage supervisors and delivery agents ensuring all work permits, risk assessment forms, DCT Agreement etc. are completed in full and issued to the relevant parties
- Monitoring territory sales/rounds
- Delivery of mail (statements) to and from the Kingsway
- Liaise with HND Customer Service team to aid the resolution of any issues as and when they occur
- Complaints - responds to every complaint immediately and explanation from delivery agent within 24 hours. Ensure repeat complaints are followed through and resolved within 24 hours
- Ensure information regarding weekly payment to Home Delivery Agents is confirmed within agreed timelines
- Undertake all administrative duties as required to ensure the effective day to day running of the HND operation including operating in house systems and liaising with 3rd party distribution company
- Monitor cancellation and complaint rates, report any trends or issues to DST Manager with actions for resolution
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns (leaflet drops) to develop sales across the home delivery areas
- Work closely with Direct Sales Team and Retail Merchandisers when planning and developing new areas
**Knowledge and Experience**:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Previous experience in a team supervisor / management role preferred.
- Undertake training and gain knowledge of the HND System NCS
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Having area knowledge and being pro-active
- Will be required to work additional hours if there are production problems, sales opportunities or staff/delivery agent shortages.
- Be flexible and carry out duties outwith role if the need arises.
- Adhere to the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Security Procedures
