Kennel & Cattery Assistant

**Job description**

We are looking for a Level 3 OFQUAL qualified Animal Management/Behaviourist to join our growing team.

The Grange Retreat is a friendly modern kennels and cattery in Tolleshunt Major, Maldon. The successful applicant will have the chance to join a growing and exciting business with a fun and friendly team. It's a great time to join the team as we are looking to expand our facilities to welcome even more guests.

The animals that visit The Grange Retreat are our guests and part of our family. You'll be responsible for our guests' safety and welfare and for keeping them exercised and happy with enrichment, games, training and group play.

**Role and responsibilities**
- Dog walking
- Cat cuddling
- Cleaning of animal accommodation to our high standard
- Bathing and grooming
- Providing our guests with enrichment, socialisation and general all round fun
- Communicating with customers as they drop off and pick up guests

**Key requirements**
- Level 3 in Animal Management/Behaviourist
- Experience in kennels would be beneficial, but full training is provided
- The ability to work well independently or as part of a small team
- A driving license is required as there is no public transport to our site

**Salary**

£9.75 - £10.00 an hour - full time

**Shift patterns**
- Your shift will begin between 7:30am and 10:00am and last for 8 hours
- You will stay on-site 1-2 nights per week in a newly renovated bungalow, a room will be allocated (this is not full accommodation)
- Shift rotations will include weekends and bank holidays
