**Health & Safety Advisor**

**£40,000-£45,000 + £5000 Car Allowance, Pension & Benefits**

**Hybrid, can be based in London or Reading with some UK Travel required.**

Reporting into the Health and Safety Manager this is an exceptional opportunity for an individual **qualified H&S (NEBOSH NVQ 4 in OSH or equivalent)** with experience in **H&S property management (retail, residential, industrial or offices)** and an understanding of the key risks and the implications this can bring to meeting statutory compliance with an **ISO Management Standard.**

**Key responsibilities -**
- Draft and review H&S procedures, that meet existing OHSAS ISO 45001 system requirements, that dictates the statutory management and governance of the Portfolio.
- To support the Health, Safety Manager to continuously improve the standards and practices across the Portfolio maintaining ISO 45001 accreditation.
- Collation of incident statistics from the portfolio including a trend analysis of public liability claims.
- Support with RIDDOR investigations to aid collation of evidence to determine root causes and to provide recommendations to prevent reoccurrence and provide mitigation evidence in preparation of potential insurance claims
- Visibly foster and support the development of a positive health and safety culture.
- Provide briefing sessions where required to clarify particular issues or changes in policy and procedure.
- Oversee the public liability insurance claims process. Liaising with Insurance Stakeholders to support in providing documentation to defend claims.
- Attend quarterly HS&S Committee meetings
- Prepare and chair monthly Operational HS&S Committee meetings
- Deputise for Health & Safety Manager as required

**Education/ Qualification** -- Qualified H&S (NEBOSH NVQ 4 in OSH or equivalent) professional with proven experience
- Logical approach when managing H&S and passionate about wanting to make a difference
- Good organisation skills - planning, time management
- Communicate with confidence and credibility - personable, ability to present data and explain issues to allow understanding
- Excellent IT skills
- Work within deadlines under pressure to succeed
- Based in Reading but to hold a full driving licence as will be required to travel throughout portfolio as required

**Experience**
- Previous experience with an ISO Management Standard
- Demonstrable experience in H&S property management (retail, residential, industrial and offices) with understanding of the key risks and the implications this can bring to meeting statutory compliance
- Team player, who will deliver results by managing and developing strong and positive relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Flexibility with travel - this role requires regular visits to the assets and Head offices.
