We have an exciting opportunity for a Residential Support Worker / Residential Childcare Worker to join our growing team.

**Job Title**: Residential Support Worker / Residential Childcare Worker

**Location**: Newcastle under Lyme & Stoke on Trent

**Salary**: £26,500 - £29,000 + Benefits (listed below)
- Unqualified: £26,500.00
- Qualified Level 3-4 diploma: £29,000

**About us**:
We are a small company specialising in providing safe, structured, individualised residential care to young people who are experiencing some difficulties in their lives.

Our purpose... is to provide the best possible standard and quality of care to those young people referred to us by working closely with the young person, placing authorities, parents and previous carers to ensure the best outcomes are achieved for the youngperson.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Promoting the welfare, safety, personal development and wellbeing of Young People being cared for.
- Ensuring the physical, emotional, psychological needs of the Young People are met where at all possible.
- Creating a friendly, nurturing and relaxed environment for the young people encouraging enjoyment, self-motivation, self-esteem and respect for themselves and others.
- Reviewing and monitoring process in the development of each individual Placement Plan.
- Promoting and uphold anti-discriminatory practices and equal opportunity practices in line with Company policy.
- Supporting and maintain effective working relationships with all other staff, whilst promoting good relationships with local residents and general community.
- Observing the Company guidelines on Health and Safety, Fire safety procedures and Food Hygiene. To adhere to Health and Safety Regulations and Procedures.
- Assisting with the day-to-day administration and maintenance of the home by completing and maintaining accurate recordings, good housekeeping, and upkeep of the home. Performing adoc tasks where required.
- Providing young people with information and advice where appropriate or to help them to seek advice from appropriate sources. Playing an active part whilst promoting the participation of young people, in the decision-making process of the home.
- To work with the young people and prospective carers to ensure the young person’s successful integration into a family or other residential placement. Assisting with the process of developing effective partnerships with parents and families.
- To contribute to the development of individuals and the team through active participation in effective supervision, team meetings, training sessions etc. Promoting and uphold the good reputation of the company in all contact with external agencies and individuals
- Holds a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) Check
- Is able to commit to ongoing personal and professional development. Attending in-house and external training to develop skills, knowledge and experience.
- Is flexible, within reasonable bounds, to changes on the rota pattern may change at short notice.
- Has the ability to maintain confidentiality and observe GDPR guidelines.
- May hold an NVQ Level 3-4 Diploma in Children and Young People
- May have previous experience working in Childcare or with Young People.
