We are looking to recruit a motivated person to become part of our dynamic multidisciplinary team, contributing to the effective quality care of our patients and their families in a busy Neuro Trauma Critical Care Unit. We are a dynamic team of nursing and support staff, who are proud to deliver high quality care to our patients within the OUH NHS Foundation Trust.
The Neuroscience Critical Care Unit is a busy Multi-Trauma Critical Care Centre located in a purpose built facility at the John Radcliffe Hospital. We are a friendly forward thinking team with a strong commitment to professional development. We know the importance of providing exceptional patient care in such a fast-paced, vibrant environment. We are looking to recruit motivated staff with a desire to develop a career within the critical care environment. We are dedicated in the provision of ongoing support and professional development.
You will assist the qualified nursing staff in the delivery of planned health care to Level 2 and 3 patients maintaining patient privacy and dignity. You will ensure that the unit is well maintained, stocked and tidy while adhering to health and safety policies.

**OVERALL OBJECTIVES**:
To contribute to the efficient running of the clinical area
To assist qualified members of the department with the delivery of planned healthcare
To complete unit competencies to enable one to perform within the role
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Efficient Running of the Unit
Maintain an environment which is clean, tidy and well stocked, including bed spaces, sluices and clinical areas
Check, clean and stock equipment in use within the clinical area
Strip, clean and reassemble necessary equipment within the clinical area
Collect, deliver and restock necessary supplies for the clinical area+
Assist in the Delivery of Effective Health Care
Assist the registered nurse in the delivery of care
Under direct supervision assist with turning and moving patients
Under direct supervision assist with patient hygiene
Under direct supervision assist with feeding patients
Following completion of competencies, undertake specific clinical interventions
On completion of advance skills training and competencies, set up specific pieces of equipment used in the Intensive Care Unit

Contribute and assist with all measures that will ensure safety and security of the environment at work for patients, visitors and staff
Undertake annual statutory and mandatory training, including those pertinent to the unit, for example Major Incident Procedures
Personal Responsibilities
To attend work promptly, wearing the correct uniform in accordance with the Trust Uniform Policy
To be aware of and take responsibility for self-restoring, annual leave, notifying staff of sickness and absence, in accordance with the unit policies
Promote people’s equality and support their rights, choices and personal beliefs
To work within one’s own limitations and be confident in communicating these limitations to the staff on the unit
To work effectively as part of the team, maintaining a good working atmosphere with staff within the unit, supporting new starters
