As a Catering Assistant you will assist in the provision of a comprehensive catering service to patients and staff at Elmhurst ICC, Roehurst Lane, Winsford, CW7 2DF

**Band 2 Catering Assistants**:
1. Prepare hot and cold breakfast
2. Prepare sandwiches, salads, snack boxes and any other additional items required for patients, taking into account all dietary requirements
3. Assist in the preparation of hot meals for patients
4. Prepare sandwiches and salads for sale to staff, and take payments for the same
5. Prepare goods and items for meals ensuring correct labelling and storage is carried out
6. Undertake cleaning duties specified on work schedules and instruction from supervisor, ensuring safe and appropriate use of chemicals
7. Adhere to all hygiene and Infection Control regulations
8. Complete all HACCP documents and records

Staff are required to be personally accountable for their actions and be responsible for their own compliance in relation to IP&C polices, protocols or advice.
- Ensure they work in accordance with local procedures and report any issues which they may consider to be a risk to the health and safety to themselves and/or others.
- Where applicable to participate in and provide data on the efficacy of treatment and specialties.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to ensure that we provide equity of services across seven days of the week. This post may be reviewed in line with this plan and in some cases an element of weekend working may be required.

JOB PURPOSE

- Good Standard of Education
- Health & Safety Awareness
- Ability to prioritise work - sometimes under pressure
- Ability to communicate with Staff Patients & Visitors
- Good organisational skills
- Self motivated
- Food hygiene level 2

**Personal Specification - Desirable Requirements**:

- Knowledge of Information Governance
- Previous experience of working in a catering environment
- Food hygiene level 2
