**About this role**
- Our ability to understand our 30m customer base and how they transact with us is fundamental to our future success. To achieve this, data and information is key.
- The CDMI team sit within the Consumer Finance function at BT and focus on creating easy to use information for Finance and the wider Consumer business on which to base key financial decisions. The advertised role is part of a team of developers who have created a best-in-class Commercial Data Mart product which is at the heart of the BT data landscape.The role will be to further develop and maintain the data product in line with the often, fast moving pace of the business to ensure the relevant parties understand the performance of any new products and propositions. As we move into an era where cloud computing is rapidly expanding this is an exciting opportunity to join the team at a time where we’re delving into the next generation of platforms and tools to further enhance the scalability and reliability of our products.
- We’re looking for a skilled and motivated technical product owner to join an established team of like-minded individuals who can bring with them a wealth of experience from similar roles held elsewhere to hit the ground running.**You'll have the following responsibilities**
- Own the end to end management of a specific product area within the CDM team, acting as a SME responsible for managing a small squad of developers / analysts and interface with other CDM product owners to ensure an aligned development approach.
- Creation and delivery of a product roadmap that seeks to deliver the best value for the product through prioritisation of business requests, often working with non-technical commercial stakeholders to understand new data requirements and quality issues. Leading on migrating the CDM data products to a cloud-based solution.
- Effectively plan and manage your squad’s workstack to ensure that priorities are dealt with and deadlines for developments to support new products and services are met.
- Act as a champion for the CDM dataset across the consumer division, ensuring that the wider business understands the value of the data.
- As a technical product expert, support squad members with technical and non-technical queries.
- Communicate information to the wider business concerning data quality, improvements, fixes etc and be able to respond to any questions arising from the data products.
- Contribute to CDM’s strategy, standards, and governance.
- Interface with technology teams to leverage new tools and data sources.

**You'll have the following skills & experience**
- Evidence of leading a small squad or team in a technical discipline.
- A proven track record of developing large data products in one of the major cloud computing platforms, ideally GCP.
- The ability to influence and persuade peers and C band management to unlock most value from the product.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to ensure our customers are consulted and kept informed along the development journey.
- Experience of working within an agile scrum framework, using agile development principles, ideally adept at using JIRA and Confluence tools.
- Proven problem solver

It will be highly advantageous if you:
- Have been part of a large data transformation programme.
- Have experience of CI/CD practices using Git / Terraform.
- Have a background in the telecommunications industry.
