Working in this role you will be working as part of a two person Emergency Care Assistant (ECA) crew to provide care and transport to doctors urgent calls and as a first response to emergency calls as dictated by ambulance control. You may also work with an ambulance technician or paramedic to provide emergency care and transport to critically ill patients as determined by ambulance control. Occasionally there may be opportunities to carry out long distance transfers on an ad-hoc basis.

**Qualifications Required**:
In possession of a recognised Emergency Ambulance Crew qualification such as:

- QNUK FREC-4
- Level 3 Emergency and Urgent Care
- Existing NHS, St John Ambulance or British Red Cross Ambulance Crew

**What we are looking for**
- Over 25 and have held a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points (Category C1 preferable).
- You should be confident and competent in the management of basic first aid, CPR and the use of an AED.
- Be willing to physically assist patients in moving and handling where required.
- Understanding of the needs of service users of different ages, differing physical needs and varying background
- Willing to maintain own CPD and attend any CPD days we initiate
- Able to demonstrate competence in Basic Life Support at least once per year
- Must be physically fit to undertake all of the procedures as per the Lifeline Medical Services Ltd Emergency Ambulance Crew scope of practice.
- Willing to uphold our values at the heart of everything they do
- Can provide evidence of enhanced DBS via DBS update service or is willing to undertake this.

You need to have good interpersonal, diplomacy, communication and teamwork skills. **Typical tasks include**
- Treatment and transport of a range of patients in their home or other setting.
- Work with other ECA or with Technician or Paramedic colleagues and understand their work and be familiar with all equipment required for their roles.
- To complete all relevant journey and patient care records as required by the service or contract.
- To comply with all working instructions and risk assessments for the work.
- To undertake daily mandatory vehicle checks, including a start of shift checklist and post duty cleaning schedule
- To comply with infection prevention and control measures.
- Ensure all service users are treated with dignity, respect and compassion.
- To ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times in relation to patient details.
- Assisting with the safe moving of patients to enable them to be transported safely and ensuring they are left in a safe environment at the end of the care episode.
- Having awareness of the information governance policies and treating patient’s confidential information in line with policy and the law.
- To undertake all mandatory training required for the role and ensure that your training remains up to date and be responsible for your own competence within your skill set, arranging refresher training and CPD as required, we are dedicated to assisting staff with development where possible.

**Location**

Lifeline Medical Services Ltd covers the North of England and Scotland. However, as our portfolio expands events are becoming available outside of these areas.

Staff are requested to make their own way to an event site or arrangements can be made to meet at a central location and travel as a group.

**Salary**: £12.50 per hour

- FREC-4 or Level 3 Emergency and Urgent Care or Existing Crew (required)
