Bus and Coach Mechanic

Location: Heathrow Airport, London

Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire replacements, breakdowns and brake inspections on buses and coaches.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to identify and address potential problems before they lead to breakdowns or accidents.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and hours worked.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and members of the maintenance team to prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a bus and/or coach mechanic, preferably in a commercial or fleet maintenance setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle components.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment such as scan tools, multimeters, and hydraulic pressure gauges.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
