Working with current staff and volunteers, this role will contribute to high levels of customer service by assisting with the day to day sales operations of the charity’s furniture and household items store.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Assisting customers to find the goods they are looking for.
- Explaining to customers about our two-tier price system and checking proof of benefit entitlement / low income in a sensitive manner.
- Registering new customers on our IT system for donations and purchases.
- Being responsible for processing cash and card payments and refunds.
- Pricing donated items and stocking shelves with merchandise
- Assisting with stock control
- Ensuring that the reception area and store is neat, tidy, and clean showing the charity at its very best at all times, this may include some light cleaning duties.
- Supervision of volunteers in the store.
- Occasional cleaning of furniture items and electrical appliances.
- Processing customer data, under the GDPR policy.
- Taking telephone calls for furniture donations, assessing suitability of items and arranging collections and deliveries.

**Hours**:10.5 hours per week (Saturday 0845-1245 and Monday 0900-1600)

There may be opportunity to work additional hours to cover holidays and busy periods.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 10.5 per week
