Receptionist Orthopaedic Outpatients RLI.
An opportunity has arose for someone to join our team supporting virtual trauma clinics and elective orthopaedic clinics.
You will be able to work as an effective team member, demonstrate effective communications skills both written and verbal and support the team in the delivery of patient focused care. The post will demand working with highly confidential information to achieve targets and deadlines.
There will be a requirement to work flexibly within the team including some annual leave and sickness cover to support service delivery, to give administrative support within the department and actively participate in the running of the consultant Outpatient clinics.
This may involve the location and preparation of notes and the use of the hospital administration system, and also providing a warm and welcoming reception to patients.
Make and receive telephone calls, updating clinic outcomes.
To provide administrative support service to the department including inputting of data.
Maintain department databases and spreadsheets as appropriate
Effective liaison with relevant departments within the hospital and other providers
Working with all members of the department to ensure a prompt and effective communication system.
To provide a welcoming and professional approach to all members of the public and staff attending the department.
Undertake general office duties including, answering the telephone, meet and greet, photocopying and filing.
Communicate department information to the management team as required.
Ensure that up-to-date written and electronic records are maintained in accordance with professional and Trust standards
Keep up-to-date with any computerised systems introduced and attend any training required.
Monitor stock levels of stationery and highlight shortfalls as appropriate.
Deputise for other team members during periods of absence.
Participate in annual appraisal. Identify and action own development needs and establish personal supervision/mentorship.
Participate in all mandatory training as required by the Trust.
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
The post holder will be expected to work within a team environment, providing robust and comprehensive clerical service, together with general administrative tasks for the department.
