Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council continues to strengthen its commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults, we are on an exciting and fast paced transformation journey which has facilitated the establishment of a dedicated **Service Lead for Safeguarding and DoLS. **We are looking for a highly motivated senior manager to bring to life our ambitions. You will be a welcome addition to our Senior Leadership Team.

You’ll lead and embed the transformation of our core safeguarding adults and deprivation of liberty safeguards (DoLS) teams, including wider operational safeguarding activity across our Integrated Neighbourhood Teams.

With expert knowledge of safeguarding adults, DoLs and associated legalities, you’ll provide strategic and operational day-to-day leadership, supporting the effective embedding of the MCA, DoLS and Safeguarding Adults statutory duties across the directorate.

You’ll make sure our services are efficient and effective, with all safeguarding matters addressed proportionately and timely, with an emphasis on outcomes for the individual.

This role works closely with our key partners to support the work of the Blackburn with Darwen Safeguarding Adult’s Board and Business Unit, therefore building trusting and reciprocal relationships will be natural to you.

You’ll take strategic responsibility for safeguarding vulnerable adults in Blackburn with Darwen through high quality assurance and case reviews, ensuring that lessons are learned, and implemented in an efficient and effective manner. You’ll be a focal point for adult protection contributing expert advice and knowledge on highly complex issues that require significant interpretation and support.
