**Purpose**

To lead and manage teams of operatives within the Westminster Cemeteries, to undertake overall supervision of the different elements of the contract and be accountable for the effective delivery of the Grounds Maintenance services.

To ensure the requirements of the contract specifications and standards are met by supporting the Cemetery Supervisor in all aspects of the three Cemeteries grounds maintenance following operational requirements, company procedures and legal obligations.

To support the Cemetery Supervisor in ensuring all aspects of the day to day operations are delivered in accordance with the contract. Including staff management, recruitment, plant allocation and all Health & Safety matters.

**Key Responsibilities**

Assign team Leaders and operatives their daily duties and inspect work for compliance to operational standards and contractual requirements.

Accountable for the completion of daily site inspections at all sites within the area of responsibility, to monitor quality standards providing feedback to the Supervisor and assistant contract manager on issues/results as agreed.

Ensure all sites within area of responsibility are allocated sufficient resources, machinery and equipment to deliver services to the required standard or make alternative arrangements as appropriate.

Work effectively as a team with other area supervisors and the assistant contract manager to ensure optimum levels of service, quality and productivity are achieved consistently at all times.

Ensure teams consistently offer excellent levels of customer service to all cemetery users by taking the lead and setting an example for them to follow.

Investigate all complaints / sends and take appropriate corrective action.

Ensure all operatives are provided with, and wear all relevant personal protective equipment to enable them to carry out their duties in a safe and healthy manner and avoid harm or injury to any other person.

Ensure employees are supplied with company uniform and appropriate identification on joining and thereafter make sure that high standards of presentation and cleanliness are maintained at all times.

Carry out random inspections of all vehicles and equipment to check for serviceability and cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the vehicle and that any defects found are reported to the Supervisor at the earliest opportunity.

Conduct in-service training, i.e. tool box talks to explain work procedures and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment and machinery.

Adhere to all Continental Landscapes Environmental, HR, Fleet, IT, Phone, Health and Safety, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies and procedures.

Utilization of ATAK, ensure all teams understand and utilize fully the works programme.

Ensure that all stores and equipment are stored within company guidelines and that full attention is paid to all aspects of health and safety.

Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with the appropriate risk assessments and complies with Health and Safety Policy

To supervise, liaise and effective joint working with other contractors and sub-contractors on site

Provide cover and perform contract duties as required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Experience**:

- supervisory: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)
- RHS 1/2 (preferred)
- NVQ level 1 / 2 Horticulture (preferred)
- NPTC PA1 PA6 (preferred)
- NEBOSH / IOSH qualification (preferred)

Work authorisation:

- United Kingdom (required)
