**Role Summary**
Tecforce Ltd are looking to recruit Welders Mate's.
The successful applicants will receive a full training and induction programme at our workshop at Litchurch Lane, Derby.
Main responsibilities will include
- To maintain good housekeeping and communicate clearly with colleagues.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved quality procedures, policies and standards.
- Work in accordance with safety procedures, policies and systems including when using PPE and equipment.
- Be responsible for ensuring all role specific documentation is completed and signed off.
- Operate equipment as directed and in accordance with procedures.
- Working with others to ensure the work allocated is produced effectively.
**Key Duties**:
- Utilizing various tools/ grinders for corrosion & material removal on rail vehicles.
- Utilizing various tools/ grinders for steel/ aluminium preparation for welding, cleaning & dressing of welds.
- Conduct house keeping of area(s) to ensure efficient working.
- Follow welder/ team leader instructions on measurements, part/ material stock and gathering, other tasks as required.
- Application of anti-corrosive protection/ paint post repair.
**Preferred Skills / Experience**
- Full driving license
- Experience with abrasive wheel tooling
- Experience with material preparation, excavation, removal and finishing
- Experience in grinding, cutting and plating activities
- Ability to mark out and cut materials, producing weld preps where required
- Basic knowledge of the use of Guillotine and bandsaws would be advantageous
- Day to day light gauge sheet metal work will be required
- Good concentration levels
- High attention to detail
- Excellent practical skills
- Capability of working to detailed high quality fabrication procedures and drawings
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and keep records
- A safety-conscious approach to work, the ability to work alone and as part of a team
It would be advantageous if you’ve got previous experience working on heavily corroded rail vehicles
3 years experience required in a similar role
