Applications are invited for the new part-time post of Locum Consultant in Vaccine Clinical Trials, working 5 sessions per week and available to commence as soon as possible for a period of 12 months.

The post holder will lead clinical trials of vaccines as a Chief / Principal Investigator at the Cardiff Vaccine Centre, working in a multidisciplinary team developing and testing vaccines to improve human health. You will develop your own independent research portfolio and contribute collaboratively to a wider team science in Cardiff. You will be part of a lively and intellectually stimulating research community which performs to the highest international levels in research.

You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary for this post is £52,700 per annum for a 5-session commitment.

**The post holder will**:
- lead clinical trials of vaccines at the Cardiff Vaccine Centre, locally and nationally;
- work with colleagues in advancing human health through development and testing of vaccines by initiating and implementing long-term interdisciplinary research;
- develop a vaccine research portfolio, developing new avenues of research, concepts and ideas to extend intellectual understanding;
- contribute to the clinical service related to vaccine clinical trials at the level of a Consultant.

Applicants must ensure they provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last 3 years of their employment/training history in full. In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.
