You will be coached, supported, and developed within the Shift Leader role by a mentor, enabling you to manage a high-performing team. Production volumes fluctuate throughout the year, your commitment may be required at short notice in the form of overtime, or a shift change to help support the business to achieve our customer demand.

**Responsibilities include**
- Managing outstanding and upcoming maintenance tasks
- Supporting the set strategy to improve reliability and uptime which will continue to drive the department towards world class maintenance
- Analysing major breakdowns with colleagues by carrying out comprehensive root cause analysis; putting solutions in place to prevent issues re-occurring
- Promoting a positive culture and working environment
- Presenting team briefing sessions and attending operational meetings to provide maintenance related data
- Building strong working relationships with other departments to achieve one common goal

**What you’ll need**

The experience and skills that will help you hit the ground running are:

- Drive to inspire, engage and lead a group of engineers
- NVQ Level 3 qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (minimum)
- Time-served in a machine maintenance role; carrying out planned maintenance and reacting to breakdowns within any industry/sector
- Natural leadership characteristics
- Working knowledge of fault finding and problem-solving techniques
- Excellent communication skills, able to present ideas & proposals clearly
