Assistant Manager

Our client an independently run Café/Restaurant business based near Cobham, Surrey are in the process of a nationwide expansion and are looking for an ambitious Assistant Manager to join their fast-growing company.
They are looking for a responsible and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to help organise, and drive a great customer journey. Your role will be key in driving sales through excellent service standards and operating processes. You will ensure operations run smoothlywith effective recruitment and management of the team. You will also drive the team to grow with the business, adhering to high standards the brand expects. You will be passionate about giving their customers an amazing dining experience. Ultimately, the dutiesof the Assistant Manager are to make sure the restaurant operates effectively, and to ensure all customers leave happy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement strategies to attract customers
- Coordinate daily customer service operations
- Track the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual objectives
- Monitor and maintain stock levels
- Report any trends identified and customer feedback on products to senior management
- Recruitment
- Evaluate employee performance and identify hiring/training needs
- Supervise and motivate staff to perform their best
- Train new and existing team members to excellent quality and service standards, as required
- Drive sales to budget and beyond and correct labour deployment.
- Respond to customer queries and complaints
- Ensure team members adhere to company policies and guidelines
- Management of Health, Food Safety and Fire procedures including daily and weekly checks
- Manage maintenance of equipment and report any issues to manufacturer
- Manage day-to-day restaurant operations and support senior management as required
**Requirements**:
Essential:
- Minimum two years proven experience as an Assistant Manager or similar position in Retail/Hospitality
- Experience with recruiting and performance evaluation processes
- Leadership and organisational abilities
- Problem-solving attitude
- Be a great communicator across all levels
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company's success
- Excellent customer service

Hours:
- 5/7 days
- Daytimes
- No evenings currently
