Based in St Andrews, The R&A runs The Open, elite amateur events, international matches and rankings. Together The R&A and the USGA govern the sport of golf worldwide, operating in separate jurisdictions but sharing a commitment to a single code for the Rules of Golf, Rules of Amateur Status and Equipment Standards. The R&A, through R&A Rules Ltd, governs the sport worldwide, outside of the United States and Mexico, on behalf of over 41 million golfers in 145 countries and with the consent of 161 organisations from amateur and professional golf.

The R&A is committed to working for golf and supports the growth of the sport internationally and the development and management of sustainable golf facilities.

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant - Philanthropy to work within our Philanthropy department. The Philanthropy department is a new team at The R&A which sits within Golf Development. This team will continue to grow and expand within The R&A and will play a key role in supporting The R&A grow the sport of golf through the development of fundraising and donor programmes.

We are looking for an Assistant to join the team who is able to utilise their knowledge of the golfing industry to support in the development of these programmes, with an initial focus on planning and executing high quality events that will engage and nurture current and future donors and supporters. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new and expanding team and the role will also offer development opportunities through, and exposure to, a variety of different philanthropic activities.
