An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systemic Family Therapist post within the Merton CAMHS in Social Care team. We are looking to recruit Clinicians trained in Systemic Family Therapy to join our multi-disciplinary team.

Our team is integrated within Merton Children Social Care. We work with children from across Social Care, including children in care, children in need and children with child protection plans, their parents, carers and the networks of professionals around them.

The team includes Systemic Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychology and a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy. We are a friendly and supportive team - we all have monthly supervision, we receive external group reflective supervision and have lots of peer support

We promote Systemic ways of thinking and trauma informed practice. We also have close working links with the Merton Tier 3 multidisciplinary service and attend Multidisciplinary meetings as appropriate.

**CAMHS in Social Care Clinicians provide**:

- Consultationsto Social Workers, Foster Carers and other linked professionals around the child.
- Direct Work: assessments and appropriate treatment
- Reflective Group supervisionthat Supports Social Workers to pause and reflect on their complex cases.
- Trainingto Foster Carers and Social Workers - mainly training around systemic ideas and trauma informed practice.

**Applicants must**:

- Be appropriately qualified with a solid understanding of the needs of children/families with complex needs.
- Have skills and experience in building supportive and trusting relationships with children and families.
- Be skilled in building collaborative and meaningful working relationships with Social Workers and other professionals working within Children Social Care.

It’s desirable that applicants have some understanding and/or experience of the Social Care context, of Systemic theory and practice and of trauma informed practice.

- To provide specialist clinical and therapeutic services to children, young people and their families / carers across all sectors of care; providing evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment in line with NICE guidance.
- To carry a caseload and coordinate care for those children, young people and families on the caseload;
- To offer advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care. To offer consultations to Social Workers, Foster Carers and other linked professionals around the child, taking a systemic overview of the presenting issues.
- To co-facilitate reflective group supervision for Social Workers, Team managers and other Practitioners working within the Social Care Context.
- To offer relevant training to Foster Carers and Social Workers in response to the identified needs for the support of the Children Social Care Service.
- To promote and support Merton’s Systemic Culture through practice, consultations and training.
- To have a good understanding of the Social Care context.
- To work within Trust and professional guidelines, to a clear CAMHS job plan.
- To support the Departmental clinical governance structure through the provision of clinical supervision in relation to specific modalities of psychotherapy and by providing clinical input to supervisees’ PADRs.
- Within supervision, team meetings and other fora, to support and promote the use of measures within the CYP IAPT framework to evolve clinical practice and enhance user experience.
- To seek opportunities to include service user perspectives in how services are delivered.
- To utilise research skills for practice evaluation and service development, as required by the service and set out in the job plan.
- To work with the Team Lead, the Service Manager and the Consultant Lead to lead the work of a particular team or service area.
