A bit about the role
As an Assistant Buyer for Home Concessions, you will be responsible for our Home & Tech concession department, supporting the Buying Manager and Director in driving concession business. You will work with the Buying Manager and Director to negotiate trading actions with concession brands. To ensure the onboarding process is efficient and compliant with Selfridges processes and to support the wider Buying team where necessary. As Assistant Buyer, you will:

- Support the Buying Manager & Director across the Home & Tech Concession business - ensuring thorough knowledge of product and market
- Forge strong partnerships with concession brand partners - be their first point of contact within buying.
- Negotiate the best possible opportunities for Selfridges with concession partners suppliers i.e. exclusives launches, early newness drops, prioritised deliveries working with the Buyer and Buying Manager & Director where appropriate
- Work with the Buying Manager & Director to ensure that Buying decisions are based on a sound commercial framework to drive sales and profit
- Monitor and review trade in season, working closely with concession partners to make trading recommendations where necessary.
- Work with the Merchandiser to analyse performance, and collaborating on actions to further drive Home & Tech Concessions
- Complete weekly trade packs, feeding back and presenting key findings to Senior stakeholders
- Present up and coming concession launches in key stakeholder meetings.
- Work closely with Marketing and PR and to be aware of promotional opportunities during negotiations with suppliers
- Be responsible for the onboarding of concession product to website working closely with Product Lifecyle and Brands
- Work closely with digital and brands on future promotional calendars for Tech & Home brands
- Support DTC conversations across brands to identify and fulfil opportunities. Including negotiation on new commercial margins.
- Host regular floor walks and meetings with Concession brands, taking ownership of agenda and note sharing where required.
