As a Psychological Therapist, you will work with patients from different cultural backgrounds as part of the Integrated Mental Health Team working collaboratively with IRC colleagues, primary care and other specialist clinicians to meet the needs of patients and facilitate patient focused, trauma informed, innovative, evidence based practice, in line with NICE guidance and Practice Plus Group objectives. You will hold a clinical caseload of patients presenting with a variety of conditions and different level of complexity. You will use high quality assessment skills to develop trauma informed, evidence-based clinical formulations and treatment plans. You will convey complex ideas clearly and succinctly in line with the appropriate clinical framework (i.e CBT, DBT, Schema Focused, CFT or other psychological/therapeutic framework). You will deliver both individual and group interventions in line with the Talking Therapies programme and will support the development and delivery of training and case consultation to colleagues within the team

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £43,003**_ _**per annum -depending on experience.

**What we’ll look for in you**:
Derwentside IRC is an Immigration Removal Centre based in Consett, County Durham. It has an operational capacity of up to 80 detainees, it is a 25 minute drive to Durham, and 30 minutes from Newcastle upon Tyne. Our model of care is a Wellbeing Approach - an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact detainees are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care.

The dedicated team in the Health in Justice division of Practice Plus Group make a real difference across over 45 prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres.
