**Job Title**: HGV Mechanic Department:
**Location of Work**: Strabane

**Hours of** **Work**: 45 Hours Per Week
- Monday-Friday. Occasional Saturday work will be required.

**Reporting To**:Regional General Manager

**Salary**:£40k per annum, 5% bonus to be given 6 monthly.

**Key Job Duties & Responsibilities**:

- The HGV Mechanic will work as a member of the maintenance team.
- You will be responsible for the maintenance of the fleet which includes rigids, artic, vans.
- You will also be responsible for vehicle tests, emergency breakdown repairs, routine maintenance schedules and daily vehicle check repairs.
- Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner ensuring vehicles are available for customer deliveries.
- Travel to other depots when required to service and maintain vehicles.
- Maintain all documentation as required in line with servicing and maintenance of vehicles.
- Follow company procedures in relation to the purchasing of spare parts.
- Assist with general maintenance of all plant machinery when required.
- Adhere to company procedures in relation to health and safety matters.
- Carry out any other duties as requested by your line manager.

**Person Specification**:
**Essential Criteria**
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience of maintaining commercial vehicles.
- Have good working knowledge of vehicle electrics and hydraulics.
- Have good working knowledge of diesel engines.
- Have knowledge of preventative maintenance programmes.
- Possess a full driving licence. Possession of an HGV Class 1 and/or Class 2 license would be an added advantage.
- Be willing to travel to other company sites as and when required.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Fully qualified HGV Mechanic certificate.
- HGV Category C Licence.
