Locality Support Worker

Seven Social Care is working with Leicestershire County Council to recruit a Family Support Worker for their Locality Service in Loughborough.
Initial 3 month contract with the possibility of extension.
£14.64 per hour umbrella.
£11.91 per hour PAYE.
**Job Purpose**:
To provide direct high quality integrated family support and childcare services to
children and young people) as part of a family support/safeguarding plan, including kinship and foster carers, care leavers and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children where appropriate.
**Duties**:
1 To work as part of an integrated team to provide a range of home/centre-based
family support interventions that contribute to achieving an improvement in
outcomes for children, young people and families and care leavers.
2 To work as part of an integrated team providing support for young people
regarding issues of housing, benefits, education, employment and
independence.
3 In Children in Care Service the support worker will work with care leavers over
18 years of age, holding a case load of young people to ensure continuing
individual support with these issues
4 To be accountable for identified appropriate casework.
5 To advise and guide parents and where relevant young people in managing
household affairs, practical child care tasks, and other means of providing for the
care of children. This may involve flexible work patterns including early
mornings, early evenings and occasionally weekends
6 To contribute to safeguarding assessments and plans and report observations
with regard to the standards of care provided by parents and report such
observations to social workers, and Support and Assessment Workers
7 To supervise and monitor contact when part of the child's plan.
8 To be part of co-ordinating self help activities for parents/carers/young people
and ensure that children in need benefit from all neighbourhood services in an
integrated way, at the same time working with other professionals to achieve this
goal.
9 To provide necessary transport for children/young people and parents/carers
when it is part of the child's plan.
10 To undertake requested Life Story and direct work to extend their learning
opportunities.
11 To be prepared for and participate in supervision compliant with CYPS
Supervision policy and procedure and with the Manager at annual PDR and mid
year review their individual and developmental needs.
12 To maintain accurate and up-to-date manual and electronic records as required by the Department.
13 To meet Children's Workforce Development Confederation induction Standards.
14 To deliver registered childcare in accordance with relevant national standards.
15 To be responsible for carrying out all the duties of the job in accordance with the County Councils Equal Opportunities Policy.
16 To undertake such other duties as are within the scope of the job purpose, the
title of the job and its grading.
**Applicant Requirements**:
- **Qualifications**:NVQ level 3 in childcare qualification
(NNEB/NVQ3) or equivalent
First aid training
Basic food hygiene certificate
- **Experience**:Previous experience of caring for
children or young people in a personal, voluntary or statutory capacity or experience of working to protect and improve the life changes of children or young people
Experience in a social care setting
Experience of working with service users from different cultural backgrounds
- **Compliance**: Up to date Passport and DBS.
- **Travel**: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- **Hours**: 37.5 hours p/w.
