Healthcare Porter

An exciting opportunity has raised as a Porter. This is a career in Harrogate District Hospital that is ranked 3rd in the country for staff engagement and experience.

As a HIF Healthcare Porter you will ensure a high quality, timely, responsive, and pro-active portering service, You will ensure that service users, materials and equipment are safely and appropriately transferred around the hospital.

Harrogate Integrated Facilities (HIF) provide a Healthcare Portering Service to manage the movement of healthcare waste, patients and health care associated items within the Harrogate District Hospital (HDH) and Ripon Community Hospital (RCH) sites, courier vehicle service to designated locations, reception desk duties (HDH) - shared with General Office, additional specified duties as set out in the Scope of Service and an evening Security Round (HDH).

You will ensure that service users, materials and equipment are safely and appropriately transferred around the hospital to the standard required whilst delivering an effective and efficient service that meets contractual obligation, KPI’s and in accordance with agreed Company and Trust policies and procedures.

The Portering Service provides 24 hours per day, 365(6) days per year (HDH) and from 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday and 08:00 to 12:00 noon at weekends to Ripon Community Hospital. The Portering Service applies to all areas of Harrogate District Hospital, Ripon Community Hospital Site and any other healthcare site under HDFT or as detailed by HIF.
