**Job description**

Tannoch Tots Nursery are seeking a qualified nursery practitioner to join our team.

SVQ Level 3 children and young people or equivelent.

The duties will include but not limited to;
- Assist children with personal care, including changing nappies, assisting with toilet training and other associated welfare duties working alongside parents.
- Participate in the key worker system and be responsible for agroup of children. Monitor, assess, record and reporton their development and progress.
- Ensure your key children’s files are kept up to date with planning for their individual needs, observations, photographic evidence.
- Follow the Curriculum For Excellence for guidance in your practice with the children,and planning planned learning experiences.
- Organise planned learning experiences for both indoorsand outdoors to provide a broad and balanced learning environment. These learning experience should encourage creativity, co-ordination, independence, self-expression and learning through play.
- Set up the environment influencing by your planning to support the needs of your key children and the next steps that need to be addressed.
- Ensure thatthe environment is well set out and that resources are excitingly presented and accessible.
- Participate in free flow systems. This aids children’s development inself-assurance, independence, making choices and self-selecting.
- Supervise meals and mealtimes ensuring they are a time of pleasant social sharing. Toensure all staff sit and interactwith their key children where possible and to make this a sociable time.
- To encourage where appropriate,all children to use cutlery, serve themselves,and sit at the tables during meal and snack times as an important element of planning to support learning and development.
- Implement positive management of children’s behaviour.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach using your initiative and showing resilience to takeresponsibility for getting things done.
- Respect the decision of their supervisor at all times.
- Feedback to parentsdaily on what their child was involvedwith in Nursery and any learning that took place. (givedaily report sheet home with parent).
- Carry out on-goingcleaning of the Nursery. Ensureall areas are safe and clean atall times for children.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and character of the work, as may seen reasonable by the Nursery.
- Supervise, effectively mentor and provide a good role model for all Nursery assistants, students and helpnew staff fit in with the team.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £22,880.00 per year
