The BOA Group is a Multi-Academy Trust of specialist academies located in Birmingham city centre, in the hub of the creative and digital industries. Though based in Birmingham, the academies recruit from across the wider Midlands region. The BOA Group has grown from our first school, Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA). We now have 3 purpose-built academies as well as a fully operational Edwardian theatre (The Old Rep, Birmingham) within the portfolio.

BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy is a unique, industry-led training academy for 16-19 year-olds, that prepares young people to enter behind-the-scenes roles in the regional Stage and Screen industries. By blending high quality learning with industry-led projects and work-based training, BOA Stage & Screen Production prepares students for a career in film, TV, content, live events, theatre production, and associated fields within the arts and entertainment industry.

Our curriculum is designed to address the needs of the industry, and as a result students work regularly on major outward facing projects with partners such as the BBC, Threewise Entertainment, PRG, Screenskills, the Old Rep Theatre, The REP, the RSC, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Mission Accomplished, and many others.

Students choose from four, full-time pathways:

- Broadcast, Film, Content
- Writing, Directing, Screen-craft
- Production Arts and Stage Management
- Technical Theatre and Live Events

Each pathway is underpinned by one or more level 3 BTEC qualifications (worth the equivalent of 3 A'Levels), and includes a professional development programme, industry qualifications, and work placements. Some students also opt to study an additional academic qualification (A’level or GCSE).

**We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, confident, enthusiastic, and innovative Head of Department to lead and manage the two Screen Production pathways: ‘Broadcast, Film, Content’ and ‘Writing, Directing, Screen-craft’, at BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy.**

**We are looking for someone who has**:

- Experience of working in a professional capacity in the screen production industry.
- Experience of managing production projects.
- Recent experience of working with young people aged 16-18.
- The ability to build strong rapport with, and mentor young people from all backgrounds.
- The ability to work in collaboration with other team members and partners to develop and manage projects.
- Good digital and administrative skills.
- Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills.
- Presence, enthusiasm, good sense of humour and approachability.
- An excellent record of punctuality and reliability.
- Interest in own personal development and willing to develop through appropriate CPD opportunities.
