Paying between £32k and £34k, a leading services business in Wigan is recruiting for a Payroll Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis. The role will be hybrid working with 3 days WFH and 2 days office-based and offers 22 days holiday per yearplus a flexible working pattern. This role is specifically geared toward someone that has strong Payroll experience and who would be willing to learn all the payroll processes in the view to becoming the Payroll Manager and assist with implementing new processes.

**The Role**

Your main responsibility centres around the preparation of full end-to-end monthly and weekly payrolls, dealing with payroll queries, and supporting the Management Accountant in the production of monthly Management Information and other finance-related tasks.This will also include calculations to Gross and Net pay, submission for BACS payments, calculation of holiday and sick pay and submission to HMRC and Pension Providers.

Key accountabilities:

- Collating payroll information for the relevant payroll including calculation of sick and holiday pay
- Inputting payroll data onto company systems
- Exporting the BACS file for submission to the bank
- Submitting the EPS and FPS to HMRC and reconciling them to the balance sheet
- Submitting the pension uploads to the relevant provider
- Gaining a detailed understanding of each of the payrolls and ensuring process documentation is up-to-date and comprehensive
- Running payroll reports and verifying data integrity
- Overseeing the Payroll team and assisting with their queries
- Completion of P11Ds and PAYE Settlement Agreements
- Training and learning from the existing Manager and slowly implementing new processes and eventually dealing with the more complex payroll issues

**The Person**

This will suit someone who has strong Payroll experience and experience managing a team would be advantageous but not essential. This role will suit someone dynamic who will be open to looking at new processes and systems going forward. You must have experienceusing Microsoft Excel and this would need to include knowledge of VLOOKUPS and pivot tables. Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and processes is essential. You will have strong communication skills and this role would suit someone that is lookingto become a Payroll Manager role in the long term.
