**About the Role**

As a surface mount machine operator you will be responsible for operating surface mount machinery, in compliance with relevant policies and procedures, to set standards and targets.

**Main responsibilities**:

- To build surface mount PCAs
- To operate and clean production machinery and hand-held tools
- To load kits to machines, remove components from feeders, de-kit back into Stores
- To assist with hand placement of components
- To carry out solder paste printing
- To carry out inspections
- To carry out general production work
- To work from diagrams and instructions
- To maintain accurate process data/records/documentation associated with your work
- To inform supervisors of faulty machinery or production issues
- To adhere to health and safety standards, quality standards, policies and procedures
- To adhere to the production schedule
- To adhere to operational procedures and production timelines
- To carry out lean manufacturing processes and 5S
- To provide improvement ideas to the Production Supervisor
- To collaborate with technical and quality departments when required

The above is not an exhaustive list of day-to-day responsibilities. Duties should be carried out in accordance with local work instructions and procedures. There may be a requirement for some flexibility within this role including assisting in other areas to meet business needs.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £11.17 per hour
