Yard Operator

**Job Purpose**:
Assist in the processing of client waste material in accordance with all laws, regulations and industry standards/codes. Key responsibilities of the role will include: Loading and unloading of vehicles at site, utilising business supplied equipment in a safe and effective manner including diggers, and forklift. To undertake housekeeping, and other duties as directed by the Yard Foreman or General Manager. All work is to be done to high standards with regards to their own safety and that of others.

**Key Responsibilities**:
HSEQ
- Ensure all health, safety and environmental issues connected with TWMA operations are adhered to.
- Observe and act according to TWMA HSEQ policies and procedures.
- Participate in TWMA observation card programs.
- Attend monthly safety meetings with HSEQ personnel.
- Visibly promote and champion TWMA’s stay safe rules.
- Stop any work which puts any member of personnel in danger.
- Report any breaches of the safety management system to the Yard Foreman.
- Report any accidents or incidents to the Yard Foreman and participate in investigation as required.

Site Duties
- Ensure all work instructions, process and quality standards are met in line with ISO requirements.
- Load and back load offshore containers.
- Operate the forklift.
- Inspect and identify faults on any vehicle and record in daily checklist.
- Undertake housekeeping and other tasks as directed by the Yard Foreman.
- Work effectively in a fast paced environment, adapting to changing workloads and priorities, maintaining high standards.
- Safely handling, processing and preparing for dispatch all hazardous/special waste.
- Ensuring the quality of work meets the expectations of the business and requirements of the customer.
- Sorting and grading waste.
- Ensure yard is kept in a safe and tidy manner.
- Follow safe working practices at all times.
- Help identify ways of continually improving the way work is done at site.

Waste Handling Duties
- Offload skips and containers onto weighbridge.
- Interact with weighbridge operator.
- Visually inspect incoming waste.
- Record waste received.

Special Waste
- Record incoming waste.
- Sort, labelling and re-packaging waste.
- Preparation of waste leaving site.

Dust Plant
- Perform daily checks and maintenance.
- Operation of plant in accordance with instructions/procedures.

Bin Refurbishment
- Perform bin inspection prior to/following return to/from client.
- Perform basic bin repairs and maintenance.
- Bin tracking.
- Complete dispatch information.

**Skills and Experience (E-Essential, P-Preferred)**:
Qualifications/ Training:

- Basic academic qualifications (E).
- Forklift Certifications (P).

**Experience**:

- Ability to work well with staff and 3rd parties at all levels (E).
- Working within the oil and gas or energy industries (P).
- Experience in a similar role (P).

Knowledge/ Skills/ Competencies:

- Ability to work to a high standard (E).
- Ability to follow operational instructions verbally and in writing (E).
- Dedicated to promoting a positive image of the company (E).

**Complying with Procedures**:

- Ensure that all operations comply with the Company and Client operating policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all operations comply with the Company Health and Safety policy.
- Be aware of company conditions of employment as detailed in the Employee Handbook.
- Liaise with the HR Department to assure compliance with current employment law legislation and contract of employment.
