At UK Biocentre, we are looking for a part-time (4.5 hours per day) Accounts Payable Clerk to join the team.
The purpose of the role is to ensure supplier invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner, and to ensure company debt is collected in a timely manner.
**As Accounts Payable Clerk at UK Biocentre, your responsibilities will include**:

- Processing purchase invoices through to authorisation for payment.
- Matching purchase invoices to Purchase Orders and liaise with Procurement to ensure POs are GRN’d to facilitate the posting of the invoice.
- Ensuring coding of purchase invoices to nominal ledger is accurate; that project costs are coded to a project.
- Helping reduce the number of Invoices with no Purchase Orders to a prescribed percentage.
- Investigating and resolving any invoice discrepancies or queries.
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolve any differences.
- Preparing payment runs ensuring that suppliers are paid to agreed terms.
- Allocating payments to invoices where necessary.
- Filing invoices and statements electronically in the relevant location and attach PDF of the invoice to the record in Sage.
- Sending out Debtor statements to customers each month and dunning letters as appropriate.
- Liaising with Customers, Project Managers and Finance team to collect outstanding debt and updating Customer lines on a spreadsheet tracker with updates.
- Attending bi-weekly meetings to discuss outstanding debt and actions being taken.

**We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk who has the following skills and experiences**:

- IT Literate including use of Microsoft Office with good knowledge of Excel.
- Previous Purchase Ledger and Credit Control experience.
- Understanding of the basic principles of VAT and basic accounting principles.
- Attention to detail and accuracy to complete all tasks to a high standard.
- The ability to build strong working relationships and communicate with employees and external stakeholders / suppliers.
- Use of Sage 200, or similar software.
- Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 15189, ISO 27001).
