SMSTS Site Manager (3-Month Contract)

Location: DE24 8LY, Derby Area
Duration: 3 Months
Rate: £270 per day

We are seeking a skilled and experienced SMSTS Site Manager to oversee the closure of a construction project in the Derby area. This is a fantastic opportunity to support and deliver construction projects in the Midlands region, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

* Project Oversight: Successfully initiate, plan, design, execute, monitor, control, and close the project.

* On-Site Management: Lead and manage construction projects on-site, coordinating with the Senior Management team, client, subcontractors, and other trades.

* Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate and utilize resources, maintaining a motivated and successful team.

* Cost Management: Apply commercial understanding to advise and implement cost-saving measures.

* Professional Representation: Represent the company in a professional and proactive manner in all dealings.

* Safety Assurance: Ensure the safety of site visitors and staff by adhering to health and safety protocols.

* Scope Development: Develop the project scope in conjunction with the Project Sponsor.

* Quality and Standards: Ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and regulatory standards.

* Relationship Management: Manage relationships with various stakeholders, including clients, project architects, engineers, and local authorities.

* Daily Coordination: Liaise daily with the site manager and internal commercial team.

* Meeting Attendance: Attend and take notes of relevant meetings on-site or in offices.

* Programme Development: Develop and maintain working programmes and schedules.

* Issue Management: Record and manage project issues, escalating as necessary.

Qualifications:

* SMSTS Certification: Must hold a valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.

* Experience: Proven experience in managing construction projects from initiation to closure.

* Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.

* Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of project finances and cost management.

* Safety Focus: Committed to ensuring the highest standards of health and safety on-site.
