About the Role

Sanza Teaching Agency is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the vibrant London Borough of Croydon. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored educational activities and interventions.
Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCPs and support pupils in meeting their specific goals.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Monitor and record pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers.
Promote independence and confidence in pupils with SEND.

About You

The ideal candidate will be:

Passionate about working with children and making a positive impact on their education.
Experienced in supporting pupils with SEND in a primary school setting.
Patient, empathetic, and understanding of the unique challenges faced by pupils with additional needs.
Able to work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
Knowledgeable of SEND practices, strategies, and relevant legislation.
Flexible, adaptable, and proactive in addressing the diverse needs of pupils.

Requirements

Experience working with children with SEND, preferably within a primary school environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to ongoing professional development.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
