About the Role:

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide essential support to students in a vibrant primary school in Tower Hamlets. You will play a key role in ensuring that children with diverse learning needs receive the personalized support they require for a fulfilling educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in this outstanding Tower Hamlets school, you will:

Provide focused morning support for students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, including those diagnosed with ADHD and potential self-harming behaviors.
Offer vital afternoon assistance, with the flexibility to work across Key Stages 1 and 2 as needed.
Leverage your expertise to foster a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement individualized support plans and interventions.
Build positive relationships with students, supporting their social, emotional, and academic development.

What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection practices.
Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
Willingness to assist with nappy changing when necessary.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant qualifications and/or training in education, SEN, or child development are highly desirable.
Please note that a solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection is crucial for this role. Successful candidates must pass all required safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check on the update service.
