Simply Education is seeking an experienced Secondary Trained Teacher to join our team and work within an alternative provision in Prenton. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students aged 11-14 who require additional support due to ADHD, ASD, and SEMH needs. The successful Secondary Trained Teacher must have the skills to build trust with our students and the ability to promote self confidence and self-esteem. Our students can display colourful language and challenging behaviours at times as their defence mechanisms so the ability to look past this and really get to know our students is vital for the role. Our students have massive potential, they need someone who is going to be a consistent figure that challenges their mindset and demonstrates positive interactions with others and a positive approach to accessing and developing their skill set.

About the School:

This small provision supports young people who have faced challenges in their educational journey, helping them re-engage with their learning and build their confidence and self-esteem. The school's mission is to equip students with the knowledge and skills to develop better coping strategies and emotional understanding through a multi-agency approach and tailored therapy.

Capacity: 32 students (currently 12 enrolled)
Class Size: 3-5 pupils per class
Special Features: Beauty room and hairdressers for vocational qualifications (Level 1 and 2), life skills activities (off site) including horse riding and team building.

As a Secondary Trained Teacher, you will be responsible for:

Teaching multiple subjects to KS3 and KS4 students.
Implementing strong behaviour management strategies.
Building rapport with students, including those who are sometimes reluctant learners.
Tracking student progress and identifying gaps in learning.
Contributing to the holistic development of students’ confidence, language, behaviour, and social skills.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Ability to plan and deliver well-structured, effective lessons.
Experience working with students with SEMH needs. (Desirable)
Strong behaviour management skills and ability to adapt quickly to new environments.
A sense of humour and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
