This large and popular school caters for pupils with a wide range of severe and complex learning difficulties from the age of 2 - 19, as well as a 19 - 25 provision catering for students with severe and complex medical needs.
As part of this full-time Secondary Special Needs Teacher role, you will be responsible for teaching a class of 8-10 pupils, ably supported by several teaching assistants and support staff. There will be a wide range of additional and complex learning needs across the classroom, with a requirement for differentiation and individualised planning to cater for needs of pupils.
This Secondary Special Needs Teacher role is initially from September - December 2024, with scope for a permanent contract becoming available in 2025 for the right person.
To join us and be successful in this Secondary Special Needs Teacher role you will need:
Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs, either within a mainstream secondary school or specialist setting
Strong understanding of the individual needs associated with MLD, SLD, ASD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
Hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible.
Legal right to work in the UK.
