Job Requirements of this Teaching Assistant job in Tamworth
Ability to effectively support students with challenging behaviour in a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) school environment.
Experience working with young people of secondary school age.
Familiarity with OFSTED Good school standards and practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
Ability to assist in implementing a broad, balanced, and flexible academic and social curriculum.
Willingness to fully include students in all aspects of school life and support their transition into Post 16 plans.
Qualifications or Certificates:
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Education, Youth Work, Social Work, or related field.
Relevant certifications in behaviour management or similar training programs.
Experience:
Proven experience working with challenging behaviour within a school environment or similar setting.
Experience in supporting the academic and social development of secondary school-aged students.
Familiarity with implementing strategies to support students with diverse needs and abilities.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including teachers and support staff.
Brief Overview of the Role:
The teaching Assistant will primarily work with secondary school-aged students within a PRU setting. This role involves providing support to students with challenging behaviour, assisting in the implementation of a broad and flexible academic and social curriculum, and ensuring that students are fully included in all aspects of school life.
