Key Responsibilities:

* Review and analyse mortgage loan applications and supporting documentation.

* Assess the creditworthiness and financial stability of loan applicants.

* Ensure compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

* Approve or deny loan applications based on analysis and established criteria.

* Communicate decisions to loan officers and provide detailed explanations for approvals or denials.

* Identify and resolve any discrepancies in documentation or information provided.

* Collaborate with loan officers, processors, and other team members to ensure smooth loan processing.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience as a mortgage underwriter or in a similar role.

* In-depth knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and guidelines.

* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Experience with various types of mortgage products, including BTL, 2nd charge, 1st charge.
