They’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator who has a proven track record in the construction industry, particularly in the concrete precast sector or a related field. If you have the skills and experience to produce accurate cost estimates for complex projects, you could be exactly who they’re looking for. Here’s what you’ll need to bring to the role:
* Experience in Estimating: You have a solid background in preparing detailed cost estimates, ideally within the precast concrete industry, though experience in a related sector (such as structural steel or civil engineering) is also highly valued.
* Technical Knowledge: You’re familiar with the technical aspects of construction projects, particularly those involving precast concrete components. You understand the nuances of material selection, labour requirements, and equipment costs, and can create accurate estimates that reflect the true scope of each project.
* Analytical Skills: You’re able to assess project drawings, specifications, and tender documents, identifying potential risks and opportunities. Your strong analytical abilities ensure that all aspects of the project are accounted for in your estimates.
* Attention to Detail: Accuracy is your hallmark. You leave no stone unturned when developing cost breakdowns, ensuring that every element of a project is considered, from labour and materials to contingencies and overheads.
* Communication Skills: You’re a confident communicator who can present complex cost estimates in a clear and concise manner. You’ll work closely with our internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure that everyone is aligned on project expectations and deliverables.
Your Role:
As their Estimator, you will be an integral part of our pre-construction team. You’ll work closely with their business development, operations, and technical teams to ensure that every project estimate is thorough, competitive, and strategically positioned for success. Your responsibilities will include:
* Detailed Cost Estimates: You’ll develop comprehensive cost estimates for a variety of precast concrete projects, ensuring that all materials, labour, equipment, and overheads are accurately accounted for.
* Tender Management: You’ll manage the tendering process, from initial inquiry to final submission, ensuring that all documentation is complete and deadlines are met.
* Risk and Value Management: You’ll identify potential risks and opportunities within project tenders, advising on cost-effective solutions and value engineering where appropriate.
* Market Research: You’ll keep a close eye on market trends, ensuring that your estimates reflect the latest cost data for materials, labour, and other key inputs.
* Collaboration and Communication: You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned on project costs and expectations.
