Our client is a dedicated national charity committed to making a difference in the lives of children and young people with autism. Their mission is to support, empower, and enrich the lives of those they serve, ensuring they reach their full potential in a supportive and understanding environment.

Job Description: They are seeking a passionate and skilled Locum Occupational Therapist to join their multi-disciplinary team. This role is crucial in providing high-quality therapeutic services to children and young people with autism, helping them develop essential life skills and enhancing their overall well-being.

Key Duties:

· Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people with autism to identify their needs and develop individualised treatment plans.

· Implement and deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to support the development of fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills.

· Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide holistic care and support for the children and young people.

· Monitor and evaluate the progress of clients, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

· Provide training and guidance to families and staff on strategies to support the therapeutic goals and daily functioning of clients.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with legal and organisational standards.

· Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices and policies within the organisation.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's or master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited institution.

· Current registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC in the UK).

· Experience working with children and young people, preferably with autism or related developmental disorders.

· Strong knowledge of sensory integration therapy, developmental disorders, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, families, and colleagues.

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

· Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of clients and the organisation.

· Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
