Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Refugee Resettlement Worker to join Staffordshire Council on an initial 6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The Role:
This role is to risk assess and support planning and review for newly arrived refuges and refugees already settled in the county. English is a second language for the majority of refugees. The team use google translate and in-person translators daily.
Key Tasks:
* Holding and managing a full caseload, prioritizing all work in accordance with the Directorate’s Policies and Procedures, standing orders, budgets and all relevant legislation to support families to stay together and integrate into life in Staffordshire
* Ensuring that all work is completed within the stated timescales in accordance with both national and local policy
* Undertaking regular reviews of guest and sponsorship arrangements and to use the outcome to formulate new arrangements and plans in conjunction with service users and other agencies
* Working with guests to support interventions that will maintain positive relationships, promote stability and achieve good outcomes for children by contributing to parenting assessments, mediating, and contributing to crisis prevention and conflict resolution
* Participating in regular supervision or consultation with the Resettlement Practitioner Lead and ensuring that they are always made aware of significant issues in respect of guest and sponsorship arrangements
* To undertake flexible, creative and imaginative approaches in offering support to Guests, which is responsive to their individual needs and is available to them at the right time
* To work with an allocated caseload of guests and their sponsors [SC(1] to ensure that all sponsorship breakdowns and rematching requests are identified at the earliest point and the best possible, appropriate rematching sponsors can be identified and/or appropriate alternative arrangements secured for guests in line with the statutory obligations
* To support guests to access a personalised budget to support effective resettlement and integration of guests and achieve positive outcomes[SC(2]
Requirements:
* Previous experience of supporting Refugees or assisting with resettlement Projects
* Full UK Drivers Licence with ability to travel around the Staffordshire area
