Our client is a leading supplier in the speciality chemical sector. Due to continued growth, they are hiring for a Lab Technician to join the team. Key duties include chemical analysis on samples and support with quality processes. The ideal candidate will have previous commercial lab experience, but chemistry graduates will also be considered. Due to the location of their site, you must be able to drive and have your own transport.

Purpose:

The primary responsibility is to conduct analyses in line with industry standards and the highest internal quality levels. The role focuses on cost optimization, quick turnaround, and adherence to HSE and best practice guidelines. The Laboratory Technician is also committed to delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring analytical excellence throughout all laboratory processes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct and report analyses on fuel, components, pilot batches, and water samples.

* Calibrate and standardize laboratory equipment in alignment with the Laboratory Quality Management System (LQMS).

* Independently and consistently blend a wide range of laboratory fuel mixtures and prepare additive solutions.

* Collaborate closely with the Laboratory Supervisor to maintain the highest quality standards.

* Support the Laboratory Quality Management System by proactively addressing non-conformities, identifying areas for improvement, and managing out-of-spec results.

* Prepare Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) in compliance with legislation, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner to meet business needs.

* Manage all operational aspects of the ICPMS project as required.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

* Ideally, a degree in Chemistry (or equivalent).

* Experience working in a laboratory setting is desirable.

* Familiarity with Fuels Laboratory Tests is preferred.

* Performance Measurement Criteria:

* Analysis output and efficiency.

* Adherence to standard lead-time targets and rapid turnarounds, as agreed with the Laboratory Supervisor.

* Achievement of right-first-time criteria as agreed.
