Belmont Recruitment are working with Oxfordshire Council to recruit for a Child Performance Licensing Officer. You will be required to work 22.5 hours over 3 days per week (2 days from home)

Responsibilities:

* Process and issue all licences on behalf of the Local Authority pertaining to Child performances. Ensuring that all steps are taken to safeguard children and young people and that licences are only issued within relevant legal frameworks.

* Support the completion of Child performance inspections with the Education Inclusion Manager/Officers from the County Attendance Team

* Maintain accurate records of Child performance inspections.

* Raise concerns to the Education Inclusion Manager where applicable.

* Process and issue all licences on behalf of the Local Authority pertaining to Chaperones, ensuring that all steps are taken to safeguard children and young people and that licences are only issued within relevant legal frameworks.

* Complete interviews with or Independently of the Education Inclusion Manager for all people applying for a chaperone licence.

* Complete reference checks on behalf of/in conjunction with the Education Inclusion Manangere for all people applying for a Chaperone Licence and ensure DBS certificates are upto date and valid.

* Process and issue all Work permits on behalf of the Local Authority pertaining to Child Employment. Ensuring that all steps are taken to safeguard young people and that licenses are only issued within relevant legal framework and within the Oxfordshire County Council bylaws.

* Provide advice, guidance and challenge to employers, chaperones and entertainment organisations on child entertainment and employment legislation and safeguarding when required.

* Provide advice and guidence to all parties including professionals/parents/carers making enquiries regarding licence applications.

* Complete Freedom of Information requests on behalf of the Local Authority pertaining to the issuing of licences.

* Take the lead on providing training on the processing/issuing of licenes to officers from the County Attendance team to ensure business conituinty planning.

Location: Oxford, OX14 3JD (only 2 days in the office)

Hourly rate is negotiable depending on experience.
