Machine Operator

We are looking for a talented Machine Operator to work in a manufacturing plant in South Lanarkshire. This is being offered on a dayshift, Monday to Friday basic and the starting salary for this permanent position will be 32k + annual bonus.

To be considered for this role you must have:

Previous experience as a machine operator, or similar role.

* Ability to read mechanical detail drawings and understand the machining requirement from these.

* Skill operating various machine tools.

The main duties of this position are the following:

* Specialise in the setup and operation of a convention horizontal boring machine.

* Operate various other machine tools: lathe; milling machine; drill etc.

* Produce component parts from conventional engineering drawings and specifications in a timely manner and to high standards.

Experience in the following would offer a distinct advantage:

* Having used a “Kerns Richard SH75” or similar boring machine.

* Have a counterbalance forklift truck licence.

* Ability to operate overhead crane to load & unload parts.

Have knowledge of “Safe Working practice” in a machine shop environment.

Responsibilities:

- Operate machinery efficiently and safely according to company standards
- Set up machines to start a production cycle
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency
- Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance tasks
- Inspect parts with precision and ensure they meet specifications
- Collaborate with the team to meet production goals
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
