We are recruiting an outstanding Sustainability Associate Director to lead the sustainability team within the Faringdon (Oxfordshire) Office and form part of the overall sustainability senior leadership team. Responsibilities include providing leadership to ensure consistent project deliver, technical delivery, processes and reporting financial performance against targets.

Whilst the technical expertise required to ensure success is incredibly important, the position demands an Associate Director with a positive mindset towards change, who is hugely capable, energetic and embraces innovation in a fast-paced environment. Moreover, the Associate Director will possess a "can-do" attitude to other support functions across the business, facilitating the implementation of robust project delivery.

With ambitious growth plans to expand organically and potentially through acquisition this role requires an Associate Director with an exceptional understanding of running and motivating a team of sustainability engineers in growth and the expertise to break into new clients to drive organic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Director of Sustainaiblty in developing, expanding and delivering our sustainability offering in London, with a focus on net zero carbon, circular economy, embodied carbon and decarbonisation strategies.
Deliver external presentations for business development to raise the profile of our business.
Deliver, report and evaluate on project sustainability targets
Speak at industry events championing our brand and approach.
Assist in bid writing and attending project interviews.
Manage project resourcing and fee spends.
Develop the team, through mentoring, technical support and leadership.

The role will report directly to the Director of Sustainability.

What we are looking for:

Key Skills and Knowledge:

You will have detailed knowledge, competence and qualifications in a selection of the following fields. It is not expected that applicants will have expertise in all of the below topics. Applicants will be expected to have focus areas and detailed knowledge within them and should demonstrate a willingness to gain expertise in other topic areas.

Passivhaus design, including AECB Enerfit
Building Regulations Part L assessments using Elmhurst and IES software
NABERS UK modelling
In-Use energy modelling and assessment.
Dynamic modelling for thermal comfort assessment and overheating risk assessments
BREEAM, LEED, WELL, FITWELL
Production of planning documents including sustainability statements, energy statements, whole life carbon reports and circular economy statements.
Net zero carbon strategies and embodied carbon calculations using OneClick software
Circular economy strategies

About you:

Experience working within sustainability consultancy, you will be looking for a new challenge within a practice at the forefront of our field.
You will bring expertise (with a degree in an applicable field) and a passion for creating sustainable solutions.
You will be confident in leading sustainability workshop with design teams
You will relish being part of a dynamic team within a progressive and innovative business.
You will have good communication skills and an enthusiasm for working within a team environment.
You will have a good level of acumen in regards to commercial management of projects.
