A Manufacturing Engineer is required for a high-tech manufacturing company based in Southam, Warwickshire. My client has opened a state-of-the-art research & development centre and is developing a range of energy saving products for the energy generating markets. Due to significant growth with key engineering partnerships, my client is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer.
You will be a critical team member in developing manufacturing solutions for clients’ challenging components and assemblies. The next generation of assemblies will feature integrated electric drive and generation solutions which are being developed for scalable in-house manufacture.
The purpose of this role is to:
* Support the principal engineer and manufacturing engineering team
* Establish robust processes and equipment specifications
* Deliver required capacity, throughput, and quality of the products.
* Take ownership of required production tooling activities including design.
Key responsibilities and daily tasks will include:
* To support the principal engineer in technical strategy & decision making relating to electric motor manufacturing processes & specifications.
* Develop production tooling required for volume manufacturing including design.
* Liaison with design partners.
* Selection and liaison with manufacturing equipment supply partners.
* Working with the Principal Engineer construct: Performance based equipment specifications, Sourcing documentation for core manufacturing technologies, Detailed Process Flows and Process instructions and data logging capability.
* Fully support PFMEA and Manufacturing Control Plan development and ensure requirements are translated into equipment specifications and operation.
We are seeking individuals with the following skills and experience:
* Higher Education and / or relevant experience in a relevant field.
* At least three years’ experience working in leading edge manufacturing.
* Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the following: Product specific tooling design for volume manufacturing, competent at SolidWorks design (CAD), experience of NPI and structured problem-solving techniques.
* Influencing decision making in manufacturing method & design for manufacture.
* Excellent inter-personal skills to ensure that external resources are fully engaged in project goals.
* Experience of appropriate application of PFMEA, Control Plan, risk analysis.
This is a permanent position with a basic salary between £40,000 to £45,000pa dependent on experience, and excellent opportunities for career progression within this growing organisation. Hours of work are 07:30 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday and 07:30am – 12:30 Friday.
